Perth Teenager Aleyna Helvaci reveals what started viral road rage clash

Being on L-plates is an exciting but nerve-racking time in every Aussie teen’s life.

But for one Western Australian girl, her first time behind the wheel turned into a viral road rage moment earlier this week.

The bizarre expletive-laden outburst, which went viral on social media, occurred on Sunday at the corner of Albany Hwy and Leichardt St in the inner-Perth suburb of Victoria Park.

Woman attacks L-plater in expletive-laden road rage outburst

Aleyna Helvaci, 16, was the L-plater at the wheel of the targeted car, accompanied by a professional driving instructor, when an enraged woman behind them unleashed, at one point, hurling a traffic cone in their direction.

According to the teenager, the ugly incident was triggered after she stalled accidentally at the busy intersection.

It was her first time ever driving.

A second panicked stall further enraged a woman in a dark BMW SUV sitting behind.

“She was just full out wild,” Ms Helvaci told 7 NEWS.

“I turned (the car) back on, put my foot on the clutch, and everything was ready.

“I was going to take off, but before I could there was a really loud horn.”

Footage of the interaction, filmed by Ms Helvaci’s mother and shared to TikTok, begins with the woman marching down a roadside footpath while screaming abuse at the car.

She screams “f*** you” as she storms down the road in front of standstill traffic, before pretending to peg her handbag in the car’s direction.

She then reaches for an orange traffic cone placed under a street sign to her right and throws it at the car.

“F***ing sl**, move on up!” she screams before storming back to the flashy car idling behind her.

The camera pans behind them to show the SUV she came from – still beeping the car’s horn.

At one point, the male driver holds the horn down for nine straight seconds as the person calmly filming the ordeal is urged to mark down the number plate.

The woman eventually sits down and puts her seatbelt on, but does not stop screaming with her head out of the passenger-side window.

She keeps screaming as the driver merges to the right lane to flee the scene – not without getting in on the action himself: giving two more honks of the horn and flipping a middle finger at the learner driver ahead of them.

Ms Helvaci’s family later filed a police report with the teenager telling 7 NEWS it would be some time before she felt safe again on the roads.

“It is all about building confidence in the end, so this is all part of the experience,” she said, still determined to get her licence.
