Steven Seagal Wont Be Charged By LA Authorities After Prosecutor Drops The 2002 Case

Publish date: 2024-04-30

According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the LA prosecutor is declining to press charges against Mr. Steven Seagal relating to the allegations against him from an incident 16 years ago in 2002. On Friday, the LA County DA’s office said they would not press charges against the longtime Hollywood actor.

Unfortunately for the supposed victims, the statute of limitations has long gone by, as claimed by the documents released by the DA’s Office. Thus far, the person’s identity hasn’t been revealed.

This marks the second accusation against Mr. Seagal to be dropped by the DA’s office. Back in September of this year, a 1993 case involving Mr. Steven in which a young woman accused him of rape was dropped.

The reasoning for their decision to drop the case was again, the statute of limitations. The alleged victim in question was 18-years-old. As it was previously reported, the 18-year-old girl claims Steven invited her back to what she thought was a post-filming party for the direct-to-video movie, Out For A Kill.

Mr. Seagal is just one of many men to be accused of sexual harassment/misconduct in recent months. Some of the other more prominent men include Harvey Weinstein, Louis CK, Kevin Spacey, and more.

Another woman accused Steven Seagal of luring her back to his place late at night for sex. Steven never personally addressed the allegations. Steven has been accused of assault in several different cases all going back to the early 1990s when his career first began.

Portia de Rossi, the spouse of the small screen star, Ellen DeGeneres, as well as Rachel Grant, are perhaps the most famous women to accuse Seagal of misconduct.

Fans of Steven will recognize him from his career spanning almost thirty years. Several of his films in the 1990s were highly successful, but after a series of box office failures, he began producing direct-to-video productions that, while critically panned, are successful enough for him to continue producing them.

Despite the controversy, Steven was recently given Russian citizenship due to his support of Russia and their annexation of the Crimea in 2014.
